later
* 4 MB of RAM
* CD-ROM reader or drive
Using Adobe Acrobat
----------------------------------------------------------------
Note: Substitute the letter of your
CD-ROM drive for all [CD-DRIVE] found below.
The available reports are as a series of PDF (Adobe
Acrobat Portable Document Format) files in the [CD-
DRIVE]:\PDF directory on the CD-ROM. After installing
the Acrobat Reader as outlined below, view the file
[CD-DRIVE]:\PDF\WELCOME.PDF, which contains hypertext links to
the each of the publications available on this CD-ROM.
To view the PDF files on this CD-ROM, you must first install the
Adobe Acrobat Reader, found in the folder or directory called
INSTALL in the ACROBAT directory of the CD-ROM. If you already have
installed Acrobat 3.0 or later, you do not need to reinstall.
To conserve space, only the Windows version of Acrobat is provided on
this CD-ROM. UNIX and Macintosh users may obtain Acrobat through the
various internet sites, including www.census.gov.

Installation
------------
Windows 3.1 Users:
* To install Acrobat Reader 3.0 on your hard drive, from the
Windows Program Manager, choose "Run" from the File menu; type
[CD-DRIVE]:\ACROBAT\INSTALL\16BIT\SETUP.EXE
* Follow the instructions on your screen.
* Installation requires approximately 3 MB of free hard disk
space.

known issues, please see the ReadMe file located at:
[CD-DRIVE]:\ACROBAT\INSTALL\README.TXT
Windows 95 Users:
* From the Desktop, double-click the "My Computer" icon.
* Double-click the "Control Panel" icon.
* Double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
* In the Add/Remove Programs properties window, choose the
"Install/Uninstall" tab. Click "Install".
* In the Install Program from Floppy Disk or CD-ROM window,
click "Next."
* Type in the Command line in the Installation window:
[cd-drive]:\acrobat\install\32bit\setup.exe
* Follow the instructions on the screen.
